Broad Access Means Minimal Disruption
The MedCost PPO is one of the largest, most effective PPO networks in the Carolinas. MedCost uses our vast experience in hospital and physician contracting to provide broad access and substantial savings to members while ensuring a continuum of quality care. Members have open access to physicians across a broad range of medical specialties, and most health care providers in North and South Carolina are included in the network, meaning members experience minimal disruption due to a physician or hospital not being part of the network. To meet the needs of employers outside the Carolinas, MedCost also maintains positive relationships with other strong national and regional networks.
URAC Accredited In Provider Credentialing
MedCost PPO physicians and hospitals are required to meet strict credentialing criteria. This includes education, board certification, licensing, hospital privileges, practice history, criminal history, malpractice history, accreditations, and 24-hour practice coverage for physicians. Physicians and hospitals also must follow an approval process for recredentialing every three years to remain in the network. MedCost has been URAC accredited in provider credentialing since 2000, which assures our clients and members of our compliance with federal and state credentialing standards.
Ancillary Services And Transplants
To meet the needs of patient care outside the hospital setting, the MedCost PPO network includes all types of ancillary services, such as home health, hospice care, durable medical equipment, home infusion therapy services, prosthetics, and orthotics. The MedCost PPO also offers access to all tertiary hospitals in North and South Carolina, resulting in significant savings on high-cost transplant procedures.
