MedCost, LLC was established in 1983 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
MedCost offers two major health care cost management programs:

• MedCost Preferred - a Preferred Provider Organization (PPO).
• MedCost Health Management - a comprehensive care management program including inpatient utilization review, outpatient review, case management, disease management, and the SmartStarts prenatal program.

A Preferred Provider Organization, or PPO, is a network of selected providers of health care: physicians, hospitals, home health agencies, ancillary providers, and others. MedCost Preferred is a traditional PPO, giving patients a financial incentive or disincentive in their benefit plan that encourages them to seek care from participating providers. MedCost is not an insurance company.

MedCost often contracts with providers via sub-networks. For example: All chiropractors are contracted through Chiropractic Network of the Carolinas and most physical therapists are contracted through Rehability Associates Network (RAN). We also contract with providers through certain Physician Hospital Organizations, Independent Physician Associations, and Physician Organizations. If you are currently a member of an organization or association, please contact them first see if they have contracts with MedCost.

If you would like to join the MedCost Preferred PPO network, please complete the form below. You will receive a written response from us within 15-20 business days. MedCost will assess several important factors to determine if your participation could prove to be beneficial for the MedCost network. If there is a need of network providers of your specialty within your geographic area, you will be invited to join our network.
