Provider Satisfaction Survey Results
Thank you to all providers that responded to the
2006 MedCost Provider Satisfaction Survey. Your feedback helps
us set priorities and evaluate areas where improvement is needed.
The 2006 survey responses gave the clear message that providers
want expanded and more robust online administrative tools to
help make it easier to access information for program administration.
Currently, MedCost offers access to a wide range of information
at www.medcost.com, including the ability to check claims repricing
status and to perform online hospital precertification transactions.
Overall, we are extremely pleased with the Provider Satisfaction
Survey
Results, which indicate we are meeting the mark on service
and satisfaction as we work with participating providers.
Below are highlights from the survey:
• 99% overall provider satisfaction
• 98% satisfaction with the Provider Connection newsletter
• 99% satisfaction with the credentialing process
• 99% satisfaction with service and professionalism of MedCost
customer service
• 98% satisfaction with service and professionalism of MedCost
contracting and provider relations staff
• 92% of those that utilize our Web tools find them to be efficient
and simplify program administration
• 72% of respondents would like to receive the Provider Claim
Activity report in an electronic or automated format
Based on the 2006 survey and ongoing feedback, MedCost will:
• Enhance online and automated program administration tools
for providers
• Work with affiliated payers to offer online eligibility/claims
status options
• Work to strengthen payer/provider relationships
• Continue to deliver competitive network savings to our customers
• Use data to identify and address cost drivers and outlier
patterns of billing or utilization
