The MedCost Network has significant presence throughout the Carolinas and Virginia. MedCost uses our vast experience in hospital and physician contracting to provide extensive access and substantial savings to members while ensuring a continuum of quality care.
Members have open access to a vast number of health care providers in the network. This means members experience minimal disruption due to a physician or hospital being out-of-network. To meet the needs of employers outside our footprint, MedCost also maintains positive relationships with other strong national and regional networks.

The MedCost Network is the largest independent provider network in the tristate region (NC, SC, VA). We use our vast experience in hospital and physician contracting to provide extensive access and substantial savings to members while ensuring a continuum of quality care.
Members have open access to a vast number of health care providers in the network. This means members experience minimal disruption due to a physician or hospital being out-of-network. Our network is even stronger with our 2017 acquisition of the Virginia Health Network.
National Coverage
To complement our proprietary network footprint in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia, MedCost also offers access to a national network solution through First Health, a leading national network serving more than 5.5 million members. This access gives your health plan members the security of having an extended network of providers when traveling or if they reside outside of the MedCost Network footprint.
