The MedCost Network is designed to create savings for your employees and your health plan, while offering wide access to a variety of the highest quality medical providers and facilities.
The MedCost Network has significant presence throughout the Carolinas and Virginia. MedCost uses our vast experience in hospital and physician contracting to provide extensive access and substantial savings to members while ensuring a continuum of quality care.
Members have open access to a vast number of health care providers in the network. This means members experience minimal disruption due to a physician or hospital being out-of-network. To meet the needs of employers outside our footprint, MedCost also maintains positive relationships with other strong national and regional networks.
We offer a reliable network option for employers that’s competitive with large carriers. Our strong network of hospitals, physicians and other providers gives members the opportunity for quality care at a reasonable price.
Some of the advantages the MedCost Network provides are:
Broad access to our large provider network throughout service areas
Minimal disruption for members
Whether a member needs an orthopedic surgeon, an OB/GYN or a cardiovascular surgeon, the MedCost Network includes physicians across a broad range of medical specialties.
The MedCost Network is the largest independent provider network in the tristate region (NC, SC, VA). We use our vast experience in hospital and physician contracting to provide extensive access and substantial savings to members while ensuring a continuum of quality care.
Members have open access to a vast number of health care providers in the network. This means members experience minimal disruption due to a physician or hospital being out-of-network. Our network is even stronger with our 2017 acquisition of the Virginia Health Network.
To complement our network footprint in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia, MedCost also offers access to national network coverage through a relationship with American Healthcare Alliance (AHA). Founded in 1990, AHA links more than 50 local and regional PPOs across the country offering greatly expanded coverage, even in rural areas. This access gives your health plan members the security of having an extended network of providers, particularly when traveling on vacation or business, as well as being available for out-of-state college students. Employers can choose to administer the AHA network as an open-access network or emergency-only travel network to balance the needs of your organization and members.
