Search Options

  • Wake Forest Baptist Health Network

The Wake Forest Baptist Health Network Directory displays participating Wake Forest Baptist Health (WFBH) network providers. If you or your covered dependents receive services from these providers, the plan will pay covered expenses at the WFBH network benefit level.

Before making an appointment with a physician, you should confirm that he or she is still a participating WFBH network provider. When you arrive at a physician’s office, hospital or facility, present your health insurance card bearing the MedCost logo so the provider registers you as a MedCost participant.

The Wake Select Plan provides benefits for covered services received from WFBH network providers and for covered inpatient, outpatient and ancillary surgical procedures performed at a WFBH network facility. Benefits are available for covered dependents who live outside the WFBH service area. The Wake Select Plan also provides benefits for covered services received from MedCost pediatricians and for covered non-maternity services (such as well-woman visits and non-routine care for conditions other than pregnancy) at MedCost Ob-Gyn providers. See the MedCost Network Provider Directory for a full listing of these providers.

The Wake Options, Wake Health Savings and Wake Select Out-of-Area (OOA) Plans provide benefits for covered services received from WFBH network providers or from MedCost network providers. Participants in these plans pay less when they receive care from WFBH network providers and at WFBH network facilities. Generally, there is no coverage under these plans outside the WFBH and MedCost networks; however, benefits are available for covered dependents who live outside the MedCost network.

All four plan options cover emergency care at any emergency room, although the plan pays less when you use an emergency room for non-emergencies than it pays for true emergency services.

  • MedCost Network

The MedCost Network Directory displays participating MedCost network providers. If you or your covered dependents receive services from these providers, the Wake Options Plan, Wake Health Savings Plan and Wake Select Out-of-Area (OOA) Plans will pay covered expenses at the MedCost network benefit level.

Before making an appointment with a physician, you should confirm that he or she is still a participating MedCost network provider. When you arrive at a physician’s office, hospital or facility, present your health insurance card bearing the MedCost logo so the provider registers you as a MedCost participant.

If you and your covered dependents have Wake Select Plan coverage, the plan generally will not pay benefits when you receive services from MedCost providers. See the plan documents for information about exceptions for certain providers (such as MedCost pediatricians) and for covered dependents living outside the Wake Forest Baptist Health (WFBH) service area.

The Wake Options, Wake Health Savings and Wake Select Out-of-Area (OOA) Plans provide benefits for covered services received from WFBH network providers or from MedCost network providers. Participants in these plans pay less when they receive care from WFBH network providers and at WFBH network facilities. Generally there is no coverage under these plans outside the WFBH and MedCost networks; however, benefits are available for covered dependents who live outside the MedCost network.

All four plan options cover emergency care at any emergency room, although the plan pays less when you use an emergency room for non-emergencies than it pays for true emergency services.

  • Virginia Residents and Outside of NC, SC, and VA

    Virginia Residents

    Outside NC, SC, and VA

Use this link to find a First Health Network provider only if:

    • You are a covered member living outside of NC, SC or VA who is assigned to a specific network, or
    • You need to find an in-network urgent care facility when traveling outside of the Wake Forest Baptist Health (WFBH) and MedCost service areas and you have a medical condition requiring immediate care.

In the event of a medical emergency, the plan will pay benefits for emergency room services, no matter where you are. If you go to the emergency room for something that is not an emergency medical condition, you will pay more than you would for treatment of a true emergency condition. See the Summary Plan Description for additional information.

CBHA

Wake Select Plan enrollees must use a CBHA or WFBH Network provider for mental health and substance use disorder services.
